Sam Smith and Kim Petras make it four consecutive weeks atop the Official Singles Chart with the unstoppable Unholy.

In the week that saw Sam announce details of their fourth studio album Gloria, the track continues to lead the pack, but could we see a new Number 1 next week?

Anne-Marie and Aitch’s collaboration PSYCHO gains momentum to reach new highs today (6), while Stormzy boasts the week’s highest new entry with Hide & Seek (7). With such a strong debut, the latest cut from his upcoming This Is What I Mean album could prove a future contender for the top spot.

Elsewhere, American singer, producer and comedian Oliver Tree vaults into the Top 10 for the first time, with massive Robin Schulz team-up Miss You leaping 19 places (9).

Highest climber of the week comes courtesy of rising EDM artist southstar, Miss You surges 39 places into the Top 40 to Number 23, while Lil Baby notches up two Top 40 entries with California Breeze (26) and Real Spill (36).

As they celebrate a Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart, The 1975 also see two tracks from Being Funny In A Foreign Language enter the Official Singles Chart Top 40 for the first time. Oh Caroline debuts at Number 29, while I’m In Love With You is in at Number 34.

US rapper and singer Lil Yachty claims a brand-new entry with Poland this week (30), as Dermot Kennedy’s Kiss Me continues its steady ascent up the chart (33).

And finally, the newly-reformed original line-up of blink-182 score their first Top 40 single in 17 years with comeback track EDGING (31).

I feel like 'Anti-Hero' is going to be the song that replaces 'Unholy' at #1 tbh (at least I hope so! 🤞)

Taylor could occupy the entire Top 10 thanks to her new album & it's expected to be her biggest ever debut on the BB200 with 1.5-1.6M overall sales! 😳

It’d still be an unprecedented accomplishment, so I’m happy to see Taylor enter the Hot 100 history books yet again! 😊

well tomorrow i'm dropping off my laptop to my computer guy so i won't be back online 'til next wk. i'm still getting the hang of my iphone 11...so with tay-tay, all 10 of those top 10 hits are from this new album? you know i don't think that's fair that she broke mj's record in less than a wk?? it took him about a year and half to get 7 top 10 hits...i think billboard is making it too easy for today's artists to top pre-streaming artists.

I’m sure I’ll be saying something down those lines in around 20-30 years from now when next generation’s artists are breaking records! :P

Mate I got a school all of you on MJ and the thriller album and how hard artists worked back then. You think Tay-yay works hard? that’s nothing compared to what they all had to do And they all had to worry about sales, radio promotions, chart positions, etc. today’s artists Are in a blessed position where they really don’t have to have the same kind of work ethic they all had back then and yet they’re able to do very well on the charts today

I don’t deny that MJ worked hard on his music, but at the time, that has absolutely nothing to do with what Taylor achieved last week.

The charts were never made to measure work ethic (hence why you get some artists mumbling over a generic beat hitting #1 but others who put literally years into projects only never to come close to the charts). They were made to measure the most popular songs of the week & given that tens of millions of Americans listened to ‘Midnights’ tracks all week, it makes complete sense why they flooded the Top 10!

At the end of the day, there’s so much more behind an album’s legacy behind a Hot 100 record anyway! The album broke various sales records (the same metric that all the iconic names of the 80’s had back at their peak), the reviews from critics are outstanding, her website crashed just for pre-order tickets to her tour because the demand was so high, various streaming or downloading sites were also overwhelmed when the album dropped, a lot of stores under-shipped physical editions in some countries for how many people wanted them, even the BBC reported that the album was the fastest-selling in recent years, which they very rarely do, the singles are relatively consistent in comparison to her recent eras, so all that to me is a lot more defining of this album’s impact - even though it isn’t my favourite of hers, there’s no doubt she’s ticked every single box with this so far! I hear all my family & friends talking about it, they’re not even Swifties & that’s only in the UK, so I can’t even begin to comprehend the impact it’s having in the US right now.

Not only that, but this was all achieved with an album that has far less anthemic hooks & more personal storytelling. It’s clear from the start that she wasn’t chasing commercial success at all, as this is arguably her less mainstream & most experimental project to date, yet the fact it still hit such a note with everyone is what makes it a potential pop phenomenon!

No offence, but your post above kind of disregards efforts from current artists & that isn’t very fair to me because they don’t have any say or control of how the charts are compiled nowadays! Even then, while it happened in a relatively weak week in the Top 10 & may not have happened if it were released in the year, that’s down to the American public & we have to respect their opinion. :)

You are really don’t know how big he was but this is a waste of time fighting with Swifties OK I’m gonna end this conversation. There’s no law for me to be happy when artists back in the day worked really hard and very long on things and today artists can break that same record and just one week. You and Jeremy just went crazy and totally missed my initial point! I even said I wouldn’t I wasn’t mad at her I was mad at how easy it is to break records that were very hard to break back in the day. I mean if you don’t get it now then I guess you need to work on your English? Anyway enough of this fighting OK that’s great that she did that I was there when the thriller album was out and I saw how long it took for him to achieve 7 top 10 hits that was my point! It took him over a year to achieve that same with Bruce Springsteen and Janet Jackson… are we clear now? Artists today have it much easier to do great on the charts then when he was on the chart are we clear!?? That’s my point! OK end of discussion let’s Move on

I still haven’t gotten my laptop back yet and I’m using my phone so some of the wording doesn’t make sense😂😂. But anyway let’s MoveOn congratulations to Taylor that was not why I was mad OK? Are we perfectly clear? But breaking records and excelling at things was very important to Michael Jackson his whole life and to see him work hard on something that took him over a year to achieve and today’s artists can break that same record in one week was why I was upset. Now if I have to keep explaining to myself then so if you need to work on your English I can’t say it any other way
