Robert Plant set to claim this week’s Official Albums Chart Number 1
Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is on track to clinch the Official Albums Chart Number 1 spot this weekend with Lullaby And The Ceaseless Roar.
The singer’s self-produced LP is his tenth solo album and first featuring backing band The Sensational Space Shifters.
Robert also made an appearance on the Official Albums Chart earlier this year when the Jimmy Page remasters of Led Zeppelin’s Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II and Led Zeppelin III all re-entered the Top 20 back in June.
In total, Robert has scored 33 Official Albums Chart Top 40s, including 20 with Led Zeppelin.
Lullaby And The Ceaseless Roar takes the lead over Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour (Number 2 today) by a margin of just 1400 copies.
Elsewhere in the chart, Ed Sheeran’s X holds its position at 3, while Royal Blood’s self-titled debut is down two places to 4.
Rounding out today’s Official Album Chart Update Top 5 is American singer-songwriter Ryan Adams with his eponymous fourteenth studio album (5).
