Rita Ora presents Ellie Goulding with her Official Number 1 Award for Burn
Watch the moment Ellie Goulding found out she was Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with Burn.
Ellie Goulding scored her first ever Official UK Number 1 single yesterday (Sunday, August 18) with Burn. The 26-year-old singer/songwriter from Herefordshire’s new track knocked Miley Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop off the top of the Official Singles Chart.
Unfortunately Ellie was playing the V Festival in Chelmsford so couldn’t make it into BBC Radio 1 to receive her Official Number 1 Award from Jameela Jamil live on air during yesterday’s countdown, so OfficialCharts.com decided to rope in our good mate Rita Ora to do the honours!
"I'm here to do something very special for somebody really really pretty and cute," Rita announced backstage in Chelmsford. "I have to present this amazing Official Number 1 Award to somebody who deserves it more than anybody in the world, ladies and gentleman Miss Ellie Goulding!"
"Oh crap!" replied a stunned Ellie. "I wanna make it a serious speech, 'cos this is serious for me. Thank you to all the people that supported me for literally four years now. It's my first ever UK Number 1 which is crazy, and thank you so much to Radio 1 who played my song for the first time ever, Huw Stevens back in the day, I wanna say thank you for all your support because you've been there always. So yeah... Let's get drunk!"
