Rita Ora on track for debut Number 1 album
With three Number 1 singles to her name already this year, Rita Ora now looks set to better this hat trick by adding a Number 1 debut album to her musical CV on Sunday, according to today's Official Albums Chart Update.
The London-based star’s full-length debut, ORA, features Number 1 singles Hot Right Now (with DJ Fresh), R.I.P featuring Tinie Tempah, and her most recent chart topper How We Do (Party). Rita drafted in a selection of top flight producers on the album including Will.I.Am, Kanye West and Drake, Stargate, among others.
OfficialCharts.com caught up with the London-based singer/songwriter yesterday, Rita said: “I worked so hard on this album, and then you let it go and don’t have any control over it. So it’s a bit scary, but I’m excited! I just wanna say thank you to all my amazing fans, and I hope I make you feel good listening to my music!”
Rita has also been busy recently starring as a guest judge on this year’s X Factor. On Saturday night’s show chimney sweep Kye Sone wowed Rita as he auditioned with an original Rita / Swedish House Mafia mash up. After the show Kye told X Factor “Rita Ora looked beautiful as ever on the TV. I should take her out for dinner to thank her for all the nice things she said about me.”
OfficialCharts.com floated the dinner date idea with Rita… “I was so honoured when he sang R.I.P, and I was really shocked and shaking because I was so flattered, no-one’s ever done that for me before, especially not in front of so many people. But I think Kye doesn’t have time to go to dinner right now, I think he’s got a lot of work to do! Naughty, Kye, naughty!”
