Rita Ora claims Official Number 1 single for second week running

Rita Ora and Tinie Tempah fend off Fun and Janelle Monae in closest chart battle of the year! Plus see this week's Official Singles Chart Top 10 in full!

Rita Ora battled it out this week with a cast of the other current ladies of pop, and today clinches her victory as R.I.P FT Tinie Tempah is today the UK’s Official Number 1 single for a second week running.

Though things were looking on course for an all-girl Top 3 earlier in the week, indie outfit Fun finish the week less than 1,000 copies behind 21-year-old Rita, with emo-friendly anthem We Are Young FT Janelle Monae climbing three places to Number 2.

Call Me Maybe by Canadian popster Carly Rae Jepsen is a non-mover at Number 3, while Alex Clare’s Too Close, as featured in the current Internet Explorer TV ad campaign, also holds strong at 4.  Tulisa completes this week’s Top 5 with previous chart topper, Young.

New Entries

Despite being contenders for the top spot midweek, The Saturdays are this week’s highest new entry with 30 Days debuting at Number 7. The track is taken from the girl band’s upcoming, but as yet untitled, fourth studio album.

D’banj, the Nigerian singer/songwriter and harmonica player signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D label enters at Number 9 with Oliver Twist, while New York glam-pop royalty Scissor Sisters are back with new single Only The Horses (12).

Professor Green FT Ruth Anne make an appearance today in the Official Singles Chart Top 40 with Remedy (27)The video features a cameo appearance from girlfriend and Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh.  Grime MC Skepta’s Make Peace Not War is fresh in at Number 29.

Fans remember Donna Summer

Disco queen Donna Summer sadly passed away this week at the age of 63 after losing her battle with cancer, fans have been paying tribute to the late icon of the dance floor by remembering her work. 

Five of Summer’s classic singles have re-entered the Top 200, led by perhaps the singer’s most celebrated track, I Feel Love, which re-enters the Top 75 at Number 45.  Elsewhere, Hot Stuff (111), This Time I Know It’s For Real (114), Love To Love You Baby (138) and State Of Independence (143) all re-enter this week’s Official Singles Chart.
