Congratulations to Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip, who have gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Record Store Chart with Repent Replenish Repeat.

Indeed, British hip-hop duo Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip have gone straight in Number 1 on the Official Record Store Chart with their third album, Repent Replenish Repeat. This is a double victory for independent music in the UK as Dan Le Sac (or Daniel Stephens to his mum) and Scroobius Pip (AKA David Meads) are signed to DJ Rob Da Bank’s record label, Sunday Best.
The Official Record Store Chart is compiled from sales of albums from around 100 independent record retailers who participate in Record Store Day - the annual celebration of independent music retailer across the UK - and can differ quite significantly to the more mainstream Official Albums Chart.
Arctic Monkeys hold firm at Number 2 with AM, while last week’s chart topper, Days Are Gone by Haim, falls two places to Number 3. This week’s Top 5 is completed by Bella Union signings Lanterns On The Lake with Until The Colours Run (new in at Number 4) and Anna Calvi’s One Breath, which debuts at Number 5.
