Chart Facts

Mario’s first Official Singles Chart hit was 2003’s Just A Friend, which peaked at Number 18. He is better known, however, for Let Me Love You, which hit Number 2 in 2005. The track almost made it back into the Top 40 in March 2013, peaking at Number 42. The song has remained popular thanks to various cover versions over the years. One Direction’s Zayn Malik sang it at his audition for The X Factor in 2010, and teenage YouTube star Austin Mahone regularly covers the song. The Mario version has sold over 340,000 copies. Nicki Minaj makes regular appearances as a featured artist on the Official Singles Chart, including collaborations with Justin Bieber and Will.I.Am. Her biggest collaborative hit is Turn Me On, which she took to Number 8 with David Guetta in 2012. It’s sold over 480,000 copies so far. Nicki Minaj has scored 13 Top 40 hits – eight of those as lead or solo artist. Mario has a bit of catching up to do: he’s managed 5 Top 40 hits. His last one, How Do I Breathe, reached Number 21 in August 2007.
