Professor Green signs new record deal and teases new music: "The fun begins, not that it ever stopped"
Professor Green has signed a new record deal with indie label Cooking Vinyl.
The rapper has new music on the way later this year, as well as a host of re-scheduled UK tour dates, which will now take place in 2022.
He joins a roster of Cooking Vinyl artists that includes Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Will Young and Nina Nesbitt.
Announcing the news, Professor Green told Music Week: "To join a label so renowned, offering me the freedom to release music at the momentum I’ve been itching to, tickles me in all the right places.
"No more major label bureaucracy and red tape, just enthusiasm and aligning values. Now it’s over to me to deliver the music. And the fun begins, not that it ever stopped."
Professor Green previously released three albums through EMI Records (then Virgin EMI) - 2010's Number 2-peaking Alive Till I'm Dead, Top 3 album At Your Inconvenience in 2011 and 2014's Growing Up In Public. He last released his M.O.T.H EP independently in 2019.
He has one UK Number 1 single to his name, the 2011 smash Read All About It featuring Emeli Sande, which topped the chart for two weeks and has racked up 784,000 chart sales.
Professor Green has a further three Top 10 singles in the UK too, I Need You Tonight feat. Ed Drewett (Number 2), Just Be Good To Green feat. Lily Allen (Number 5) and Lullaby featuring Tori Kelly (Number 4).
