Pet Shop Boys announce Nonetheless album and London Royal Opera House live shows

Pet Shop Boys have announced the release of their brand-new album Nonetheless.

Electronic pop auteurs Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe's 15th studio LP, and first since 2020's Number 3-peaking Hotspot, will be released on April 26 2024; with lead single Loneliness out now.

Alongside new music, the duo have also announced five special live shows at London's Royal Opera House this summer, from July 23-27.

Pet Shop Boys' new 10-track album, recorded and mixed in East London, sees the group collaborate with producer James Ford for the first time ever. Previously, Ford has worked with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, blur, Depeche Mode, Gorillaz and Simian Mobile Disco.

Neil and Chris describe the first taste of the record, Loneliness, as 'uplifting music with reflective lyrics.'

Sonically, fans can expect the Nonetheless album to mix 'electronics, live instruments and orchestral arrangements.'

Speaking on the creative process, Pet Shop Boys explain: "We wanted this album to be a celebration of the unique and diverse emotions that make us human.

"From the more dance-orientated tracks to the raw poignancy of the introspective ballads, with their beautiful string arrangements, each track tells a story and contributes to the overall narrative of the album."

Pet Shop Boys will also perform at London's Royal Opera House from July 23-27 2023. In 2016, the duo became the first electronic group to play a four-performance run at the venue; a stint that proved so successful the band returned in 2018 for further dates.

Pet Shop Boys' Nonetheless is released April 26 via Parlophone. New single Loneliness is out now.
