Perrie Edwards says there's "no deadline" for her new solo music following Little Mix hiatus
Perrie has been told by her label to take her time.
If you are - like most of us - waiting with bated breath for the solo music of Little Mix members Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thrilwall, well, we have some bad news for you...
...Perrie's solo release doesn't seem like it's coming anytime soon. Really sorry about that.
In a brand new interview with Grazia UK promoting her new Disora clothing line drop, Perrie did throw some hits our way about how work is going on her debut solo record, and how she is most definitely taking her time with it, thank you very much.
"I don't have a set timeline [for my solo material]," Perrie told the publication. "My label have told me to just go with the flow and enjoy discovering what my sound is going to be."

And it seems like Perrie is really appreciating the time to explore what her career as a solo artist looks like, especially given how stringently mapped out Little Mix's schedules were from the second they won the X Factor until they wrapped up The Confetti Tour last year.
"The fact there's no deadline in my life just makes me the happiest person," Perrie confirmed. "I feel so lucky to just be having fun."
While we may not know the specifics of Perrie's record deal yet - although it has been reported she's been in discussions to join the roster at Sony's Columbia (Beyoncé, Adele, Harry Styles) - we have heard some rumours about who she's getting into the studio with.
Frequent Little Mix collaborator KAMILLE told us exclusively last year that she's been hard at work in the studio with Perrie, linking up with the likes of Fred again.. (whose just produced Ed Sheeran's newest single with Max Martin, heading for a Number 1 debut this week) and Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora).
It's already been announced that, going forward, Jade has signed to Sony's RCA Records as a solo artist, and also taken on the team behind Harry Styles and Lizzo, Full Stop, as her management.
As for Leigh-Anne Pinnock, the star is now signed to Warner Records as a solo artist and hired TaP Music (Lana Del Rey, Haillee Steinfeld and formerly Dua Lipa) for management.
