Congratulations to Paolo Nutini who has scored the fastest selling artist album of 2014 so far with his third studio full-length, Caustic Love.
“Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssss!!!!!” beamed man of many words, Paolo Nutini to OfficialCharts.com as he was told earlier today that he’d gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart with the fastest-selling album of 2014 so far – Caustic Love.
Caustic Love, the Scottish singer/songwriter’s third studio album has sold over 109,000 copies in the UK over the last seven days, beating the opening week tally of previous record holder Sam Bailey’s The Power Of Love, which sold nearly 73,000 copies in its first week on sale at the end of last month.
Today’s chart victory marks the 27-year-old’s second UK Number 1 album. He previously hit the top spot back in 2009 with Sunny Side Up, while his 2006 debut, These Streets, peaked at Number 3.
Meanwhile The Vamps claim this week’s second highest new entry with their debut offering, Meet The Vamps (Number 2). The news follows an impressive run on the Official Singles Chart by the pop/rock boyband that saw their first three singles, Can We Dance, Wild Heart and Last Night, all debut in the Top 5 upon release.
This week’s Official Albums Chart Top 5 is completed by Paloma Faith‘s A Perfect Contradiction (3), John Legend‘s Love In The Future (4) and Kaiser Chiefs’ Education, Education, Education And War (5).
