Paloma Faith announces new single Better Than This, about "warts and all" love
Paloma Faith releases Better Than This, her first new single in two years, on September 3.
Paloma Faith has announced details of her new single, titled Better Than This.
The track, out today (Sept. 3), is Paloma's first new music in two years, since 2018's Top 40 hit Make Your Own Kind Of Music.
The singer-songwriter describes the song as one about "enduring love", adding: “It’s love songs for people who are there to stay. That enduring love. Warts and all. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a love song like that, actually.”
A music video for the song, directed by David Wilson, will be unveiled alongside its release. A press release says the visual, which was shot in Paloma's hometown of Hackney, was filmed in a single uncut take and "lays Paloma against a backdrop of vignettes of human error which historically continuously repeat," highlighting issues including climate emergency, police brutality, class divide and the injustices of war.
David's video credits include David Guetta and Sia's Titanium, Arctic Monkeys' Do I Wanna Know?, and Arcade Fire's Do We Exist.
Paloma has scored ten Top 40 hits on the Official UK Singles Chart, including Number 1 Changing with dance duo Sigma. Her first three albums have achieved double Platinum status in the UK, while her most recent, 2017 chart-topper The Architect, is Platinum. View Paloma Faith's Official UK Chart history in full here.
