One Direction unveil new video for Live While You're Young
One Direction have posted the video for their forthcoming single Live While You’re Young online.
A low quality, unauthorised version of the clip was posted online this morning, prompting the band to bring its premiere forward by four days.
"We wanted our fans to see the video and hear the single in the proper way so we've moved the premiere to tonight,” said One Direction in an official statement. “We're really excited about LWWY, we've worked really hard on it and we can't wait for everyone to see and hear it!"
The track, which is released on September 30, is taken from the band’s second album Take Me Home. You can view the album’s artwork here.
One Direction, who came third in the 2010 series of X Factor, shot straight to Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart in September 2011 with their debut track What Makes You Beautiful.
In the subsequent 11 months Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson have sold a staggering 12 million singles, albums and DVDs and Blu-rays worldwide. According to the Official Charts Company's sales figures, of that total 1.17 million One Direction singles, 660,000 copies of their album Up All Night and 61,000 copies of Up All Night – The Live Tour DVDs and Blu-rays were sold here in the UK.
What Makes You Beautiful is by far One Direction's biggest selling track in the UK, shifting nearly 700,000 copies since its release, while One Thing, which was released in January, is in second place with sales of over 154,000 copies.
