Liam Payne, best known as a member of One Direction, has died aged 31.
The report, first filed by TMZ, claims Payne fell from a hotel balcony while in Buenos Aries.
In a statement to CNN, local police said Payne's death occurred at a hotel on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo neighborhood.
Payne initially rose to fame as a member of One Direction, alongside bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, before the band entered an indefinite hiatus in 2015.
As a member of One Direction, Payne claimed 4 UK Number 1 singles and 4 Number 1 albums.
As a solo artist, Payne released one album, LP1, and attained two Top 10 singles; Strip It Down featuring Quavo and For You featuring Rita Ora.

Very sad news. 31 years of age is way too young to go.
He always came across as a really nice guy in interviews and I liked a lot of his solo music as well.

hey mate, i'm still devastated!! i still can't believe it. i hope his family will pursue a lawsuit against that hotel...that railing seems pretty low. someone having a stroke, heart attack, etc. could have the same thing happen to them.
