Olly Murs to spend second week on top of the Official Albums Chart
Olly Murs is on course to spend a second week on top of the Official Albums Chart with Right Place, Right Time, according to today’s Official Chart Update.
Man of the moment Olly Murs looks set to spend a second week at Number 1 with Right Place, Right Time, according to today’s Official Charts Company sales data.
On Sunday, the X Factor star turned Xtra Factor host followed in the footsteps of Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams and One Direction, who have all achieved the coveted Official Chart double in 2012, scoring a simultaneous chart-topping single and album.
In related news, Olly was presented with an Official Number 1 Award for his fourth Number 1 single by his co-host Caroline Flack, on behalf of the Official Charts Company on Saturday night’s Xtra Factor. Olly has now racked up an impressive four chart-topping singles: 2010’s Please Don’t Let Me Go, 2011’s Heart Skips A Beat FT Rizzle Kicks, Dance With Me Tonight, and Troublemaker FT Flo Rida.
Michael Buble’s Christmas album, which was the second biggest selling album of 2011 (behind Adele’s 21), is up two places to Number 2, while One Direction’s Take Me Home (3) is down one. The Official Albums Chart Update Top 5 is completed by Rod Stewart’s Merry Christmas, Baby (4), and Rihanna’s Unapologetic (5).
New Entries And High Climbers
There are four new entries on today’s Official Albums Chart Update.
Backed by his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, and featuring collaborations with everyone from Paloma Faith to Paolo Nutini, Jessie J, Amy Winehouse, Paul Weller and Tom Jones, Jools Holland’s The Golden Age Of Song looks set to debut at Number 16 on Sunday.
N-Dubz frontwoman and X Factor judge Tulisa is new in at Number 22 with her debut solo album The Female Boss, while young Welsh male voice choir, Only Boys Aloud, are at Number 27 today with their eponymous debut album. This week’s new entries are completed by The Bee Gees’ Greatest Hits collection, Mythology (34).
Following her performance on the X Factor over the weekend, P!nk’s latest album, The Truth About Love, shoots up a cool 19 places to Number 9. Paloma Faith’s Fall To Grace is up eight places to Number 21, while Mumford & Sons’ Babel (Number 17) and Fun.’s Some Nights (20) both climb five places.
