Olly Murs looks set to be Number 1 on both the Official Singles Chart with Troublemaker AND the Official Albums Chart with Right Place, Right Time this Sunday.
Olly Murs looks set to be Number 1 on both the Official Singles Chart with Troublemaker AND the Official Albums Chart with Right Place, Right Time this Sunday.
According to today’s Official Chart Update, Olly Murs is not only on course to hold onto Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart for a second week running with Troublemaker FT Flo Rida, but his new album, Right Place, Right Time, is currently leading the race to Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart, too.
At this midway stage Olly’s third album is outselling his closest competitor, One Direction’s Take Me Home (Number 2), by more than two copies to one.
If the former X Factor star and current Xtra Factor host can maintain his lead, it will be the fourth Official Chart Double this year; Sing by Gary Barlow And The Commonwealth Band topped the Official Singles Chart and Official Albums Chart in June, while Robbie Williams’ Candy and Take The Crown, and One Direction’s Little Things and Take Me Home did the Official Charts Double earlier this month.
Official Singles Chart Update
Following their X Factor performances over the weekend, Bruno Mars’ Locked Out Of Heaven and Rihanna’s Diamonds both surge up seven places to Number 2 and Number 3, respectively, on the Official Singles Chart. Labrinth and Emeli Sande’s Beneath Your Beautiful is static at Number 4, while Robbie Williams’ Candy climbs three places to Number 5.
There are three new entries on this week’s Official Singles Chart Update Top 40. Ke$ha’s Die Young debuts at Number 11, and Las Vegas rockers Imagine Dragons are set to clock up two new entries on Sunday with tracks from their new Hear Me EP (the title track is at Number 25, while Radioactive is at Number 31).
Ladywell Primary School’s rendition of Adolphe Adam’s classic carol, O Holy Night, climbs 41 places from Number 64 to enter the Top 40 at Number 23. Athlete’s Wires looks set to re-enter the Official Singles Chart on Sunday at Number 26 following Rylan Clark’s performance of the track on Sunday’s X Factor results show. Wires reached Number 4 on the Official Singles Chart in 2005.
Taylor Swift’s latest single, I Knew You Were Trouble, climbs 19 places from Number 47 to Number 28, while The Pogues’ 1987 Christmas classic, Fairytale Of New York FT Kirsty MacColl, is up 15 places from Number 53 to Number 38.
