Olivia Rodrigo vying for Number 1 on the Official Irish Singles Chart with Good 4 U

The pop-rock anthem has proved popular with the Irish public since its May 14 release.

Olivia Rodrigo is contending for her second Number 1 on the Official Irish Singles Chart with new song Good 4 U.

The third single from Olivia's upcoming album SOUR (released May 21), Good 4 U's throwback pop-rock styling, angsty lyrical content and Princess Diaries-inspired video have resonated with the Irish public, who have downloaded and streamed it to Number 2 on today (May 17)'s midweek sales flash.

Good 4 U is less than 200 sales behind Tion Wayne & Russ Millions' Body, which has reigned at Number 1 for the past fortnight. While Body has an edge on audio and video streams, Good 4 U has the edge out of the two on downloads.

If Good 4 U continues its momentum, the track will mark the US singer and actress' third consecutive Top 5 hit following nine-week Number 1 Drivers License, and the Number 5-peaking Deja Vu.

Olivia's debut single Drivers License made Official Irish Chart history on release on January, racking up the biggest week of streams ever, surpassing a record set by Ariana Grande's 7 Rings.

This week's final Official Irish Singles and Albums Charts will be published on OfficialCharts.com/Ireland at 3pm on Friday. Listen to the chart every Friday on RTÉ 2FM with Bláthnaid Treacy at 7pm.
