Olivia Rodrigo’s vampire challenging Dave & Central Cee for Number 1
Olivia Rodrigo is back and entering the race for Number 1, with new single vampire currently expected to be this week’s highest new entry at Number 2 – although she could easily challenge Dave & Central Cee for the top spot.
The bloodsucking, gothic lament is the first official release from Olivia's sophomore record GUTS and comes with production from her frequent collaborator, Dan Nigro (Conan Gray, Sky Ferreira).
If vampire holds on for this week, it would become Olivia's fifth overall Top 10 single; following former Number 1s drivers license and good 4 u, as well as deja vu (4) and traitor (5).

Kylie Minogue’s Padam Padam looks set to remain Top 10 and could claim a new peak, too. The electro-pop banger is on track to reach Number 7 on Friday, which would net Kylie her highest-charting single in the UK since All The Lovers hit Number 3 in 2010.
This week’s final new entry in the Top 10 could belong to D-Block Europe & Clavish, who look set to debut at Number 10 with Pakistan.
Taylor Swift’s Cruel Summer could hit new highs (11), while Tom Grennan’s How Does It Feel prepares to enter the Top 20 for the first time (19).

sweet mother of music how do you expect me to choose between two absolute bangers for number 1?! i mean dave is a national treasure at this point and sprinter is great, but i was absolutely all over olivia rodrigo in 2021 and vampire has made me all over her again, what with those insane vocals and amazing structure. 10/10. i’d be happy with either that or sprinter at number 1 tbh

Chart Update 02/07/2023
Hi, hola, hej, whatever. Welcome to my synopsis of what COULD, ok, COULD, be popular in the charts on Friday. For these weekly Sunday spoofs, I'll ramsack through the top 20, and say what I want about them. Obviously, all of these songs are popular in their own ways, but given I'm not a fan of a lot of them, it's clear that my opinion is seemingly irrelevant. Or is it?
20. Anne-Marie & Shania Twain - UNHEALTHY (3/10) Could not be more literal if it tried. I mean, I'm not a fan of Anne-Marie to begin with, so I might as well celebrate the fact this isn't moving at all.
19. Tom Grennan - How Does It Feel (2/10) The sound you are hearing right now is the sound of me groaning at the prospect of talking about Tom Grennan again. I don't care if this will be his first Top 20 appearance since Boris was last in office. I just don't.
18. David Guetta/Anne-Marie/Coi Leray - Baby Don't Hurt Me (4/10) zzzzzzzzzzz
17. Stormzy ft. Fredo - Toxic Trait (5/10) So I guess Stormzy isn't THAT popular anymore, huh. Not like it matters, though. I'm just shocked that the video sees Fredo complain about toenail clippings.
16. Dua Lipa - Dance The Night (6/10) It's slightly more than fine.
15. Jorja Smith - Little Things (7/10) It says a lot about the state of the charts that Jorja's attempt to indulge in "club culture" is the best song I've talked about so far.
14. Nathan Dawe/Joel Corry/Ella Henderson - 0800 Heaven (2/10) You couldn't pay me to talk about this one.
13. Harry Styles - As It Was (6/10) FINALLY. IT'S OUT OF THE TOP 10 (for now, of course).
12. Peggy Gou - It Goes Like (Nanana) (5/10) ATB's South Korean relative slips three, and nobody is happy. No one.
11. Taylor Swift - Cruel Summer (5/10) Insert a joke about everyone wanting Taylor Swift to rule the world or whatever.
10. D-Block Europe ft. Clavish - Pakistan (5/10) Haven't heard it, so can't comment. Given their previous four songs failed to make the Top 40, I'm shocked this has done as well as it has.
9. Switch Disco & Ella Henderson - REACT (1/10) LEAVE. PLEASE. I'M SICK OF IT. THE VIDEO IS THE ONLY THING THAT'S SAVING THIS.
8. Rudimental/Charlotte Plank/Vibe Chemistry - Dancing Is Healing (5/10) If it wasn't for the chav female vocals, I would like this more.
7. Kylie Minogue - Padam Padam (6/10) In other news, Kylie is STILL proving all of the doubters wrong. Great and all, but I still remain a bit nonplussed about it.
6. Hannah Laing & RoRo - Good Love (4/10) The inevitability of all these EDM songs is just as inevitable as these low ratings I keep giving them.
5. Jazzy - Giving Me (5/10) Just copy and paste what I said about the last one.
4. J Hus & Drake - Who Told You (8/10) Welp. J Hus had a good run. Now he's never gonna top the charts. Ever (the singles charts anyway).
3. Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding - Miracle (7/10) IS HE STILL HERE!?
2. Olivia Rodrigo - vampire (6/10) Oof. Shock on the cards here people. O-Rod may NOT be queen of the hill. I mean, this is what happens when you just do driver's license again.
1. Dave & Central Cee - Sprinter (5/10) Which is just as many weeks it's going to get, ironically. Not that's it's any good, mind, but you know, they must be doing SOMETHING good to stop O-Rod.
And that is that. Until Friday. Mic drop.

not bad for your first review! we like a bit of modesty here too, makes a nice change. i’m not surprised you’re not a fan of unhealthy, that song is growing off me a bit now but as for sprinter, i don’t think they are doing anything to stop livrod, they’re just above her on streaming for now

That final sentence aged very well, didn't it.

Sad to see '(It Goes Like) Nanana' already out the Top 10! 😔
At least 'Padam Padam' may hit a new peak.

'Cruel Summer' is so close. Really hoping it makes the Top 10 on Friday!

Really glad to see Olivia back and in the runner-up position. 'Vampire' was definitely worth the wait! 😊
