Olivia Rodrigo tops Official Trending Chart as GUTS dominates conversation

Olivia Rodrigo has topped the Official Trending Chart today with the opening track of her brand new album, GUTS.

The much-anticipated follow-up to her record-breaking, Number 1 debut SOUR, GUTS opens with the clanging guitars and scorched-earth delivery of the banging all-american bitch, which is right now the Number 1 Trending Song in the country. 

The rollicking pop-punk diatribe - in which Olivia declares with zealous glee she is the "perfect all-american bitch" with "perfect all-american hips" - seems cut right out of a familiar playbook for a lot of Olivia's strongest references; you can hear Avril Lavigne, obviously, Paramore's crushcrushcrush era also, as well as a sparkling of Hilary Duff (So Yesterday especially), The Go-Go's and, perhaps most importantly of all, the work of Lindsay Lohan's fictional band Pink Slip from the Freaky Friday remake she starred in. 

As GUTS dominates conversation on the Official Albums Chart this week - outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined on its way to Number 1 - all-american bitch is also expected to debut inside the Top 10 of the Official Singles Chart, as this week's highest new entry. It would complete a trifecta of Olivia tracks in the Top 10, also including former Number 1 hit vampire and bad idea right?

The highest jump on the Official Trending Chart goes to DNA (Loving You) by DJ Billy Gillies and Hannah Boleyn, which is getting close to its first-ever entry inside the main Top 40 chart.
