Official Charts Advent Calendar 2012: Day 6
To mark Day 6, we skip back to February 19 when DJ Fresh and Rita Ora scored the UK’s first ever drum ‘n’ bass Number 1 with Hot Right Now.
Christmas is coming, people! So let’s celebrate the countdown to the big day by looking back at all the Number 1s of 2012 with the OfficialCharts.com Advent Calendar!
To mark Day 6, we skip back to February 19 when DJ Fresh and Rita Ora scored the UK’s first ever drum ‘n’ bass Number 1 with Hot Right Now.
The follow up to DJ Fresh's (aka Daniel Stein) 2011 smash hit Louder FT Sian Evans (which also became the first dubstep single to reach Number 1), shifted over 128,000 copies in its first week on sale, and knocked Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know off Number 1. It became the then fastest selling single of 2012; a record it would hold on to for four months until Cheryl and Calvin Harris’ Call My Name took the tile in June with first week sales of 141,000 copies.
To date Hot Right Now has sold over 474,000 copies and is the 20th biggest selling single of 2012 so far.
