Official Albums Chart heats up as just 600 copies separate the Top 3
Bullet For My Valentine, Cilla Black and James Bay compete in incredibly close Official Charts race.
This week’s Official Albums Chart race is well and truly on as just 600 combined chart sales are currently separating the Top 3.
In today's sales flash (August 19), Bullet For My Valentine’s fifth studio album Venom maintains its lead at Number 1, but Cilla Black’s The Very Best Of (2) and James Bay’s Chaos And The Calm (3) could both be on course to take this week’s top spot as the incredibly close race continues.
Cilla’s The Very Best Of re-entered the Top 40 at Number 14 two weeks ago following the entertainer’s death; and as fans continue to pay tribute, is on track to secure a new all-time Official Chart peak on Friday.

2015 BRITs Critics Choice award winner James Bay’s debut album Chaos And The Calm first topped the chart upon its release in April and is set to spend its 22nd week in the Top 40, so far up four places to Number 3 this week.
Elsewhere, Neck Deep’s Life’s Not Out To Get You, Vintage Trouble’s 1 Hopeful Rd., Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes’ Blossom and Melanie Martinez’s Cry Baby are among the new entries set to enter the Official Albums Chart Top 40 on Friday.
