Ocean Tisdall shares video for emotionally-charged, Billie Eilish-referencing alt-pop anthem White Lies
The eerie visuals were shot in Ocean's great-uncles house in Ireland, because of course they were.
Irish alt-pop ingenue Ocean Tisdall makes an assured splash with the wickedly grim new music video for his equally impressive single, White Lies.
Referencing Billie Eilish and her debut track Ocean Eyes in its lyrics ("Why did Billie get it so damn right? I fell into your ocean eyes"), White Lies is Ocean's first release of 2022, and only his second since signing to Universal Ireland last year.
Speaking about the new video, which was filmed at home in Ireland, Ocean said: "We shot this in my great uncle's abandoned run-down house in Ireland and it was actually the same house where we had written [the song]. It was very full-circle.
"Picture this: Me, my director, a camera guy, my friend holding a light, my sister screaming "yassss" and my little brother with a grave digger! That's all I'm saying." Watch the music video for White Lies below:
Hailing from Wicklow, Ocean's love for music has its roots in his mother's country music collection, while he takes modern-day inspiration from stars such as Miley Cyrus and Troye Sivan.
White Lies was composed during lockdown, where Ocean moved back to Ireland from London, staying in an old, rundown house in the Wicklow mountains (funnily enough, the actual house featured in the video) where there was a "two-week burst of creativity."
Ocean Tisdall's forthcoming debut EP is set for release in 2022. Keep your eyes on Irish Charts for more.
