Noah Kahan eyes first-ever Number 1 single with Stick Season

The Vermont-born singer-songwriter tracks to claim 2024's first chart-topper

Noah Kahan could claim the first Official Number 1 single of 2024 this week with his enduring hit Stick Season

With festive hits flushed away, the song looks set to lift nine places to reach the summit in its 14th week on chart, having previously peaked at Number 2 in December 2023. 

Meanwhile, Jack Harlow’s former chart-topper Lovin On Me flies 25 places midweek to Number 2, and Tate McRae could see greedy return to its previous peak of Number 3. 

Following the release of a limited edition vinyl variant, Dua Lipa’s Houdini tracks for a return to the Top 5 this week (4), as Billy Gillies ft. Hannah Boleyn’s DNA (Loving You) aims to break the Top 5 for the first time (5). 

Elsewhere, with Christmas songs departing the Top 40, many tracks hope to earn new peaks this week. 

Drake ft. Sexyy Red and SZA’s Rich Baby Daddy could break into the Top 10 for the first time (7), as could Fred again.. and Baby Keem’s leavemealone (8), Zara Larsson and David Guetta’s On My Love (9), and Teddy SwimsLose Control (10) which also would mark its Top 40 debut. 

Zach Bryan ft. Kacey MusgravesI Remember Everything looks to score a brand-new peak this week (11), as does Paul Russell’s viral hit Lil Boo Thang (17).

The Weeknd, BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Lily-Rose Depp could claim a new best with One of the Girls, too (20); the track lifted from 2023 HBO drama series The Idol previously peaked at Number 60. 

Meanwhile, Dave and Central Cee’s Sprinter, which placed second in the UK’s Official Top 40 biggest songs of 2023, tracks to vault back into the Top 40 for the first time since November 2023. 

Three tracks from Nicki Minaj’s latest LP Pink Friday 2 could hit new UK peaks this week: Lil Uzi Vert collaboration Everybody (22), Pink Friday Girls (26) and, further down the chart, FTCU (38). 

14 years after its 2010 release, Kanye West’s Pusha T team-up Runaway looks to reach a new high of Number 23 following its viral success on social media. The track, lifted from Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album, previously peaked at Number 34 in November 2023. 

After featuring in London’s New Year firework celebrations broadcast on the BBC, Dua Lipa’s former chart-topper Dance the Night lifts back into the Top 40 midweek (24). 

Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s 2002 smash Murder on the Dancefloor eyes a return to the Top 40 for the first time in 22 years this week, tracking for a Number 27 re-entry. The song, which peaked at Number 2, sees a spike in popularity thanks to its inclusion in the (very memorable) closing scene of writer-director Emerald Fennell’s psychological thriller Saltburn, starring Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi and Rosamund Pike, which began streaming on Amazon Prime over Christmas.
