Nigella Lawson has confirmed that she has joined this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Not as a singer (sadly), but by reading out the results of the nation’s voting live from London for this Saturday’s annual competition in Vienna.

The TV chef confirmed she will appear at this year's contest via her Twitter page, saying: "Yes, it's true. Oui, c'est vrai. Ja, das ist wahr."

The BBC also posted the news on their Facebook page with the message: "Nigella Lawson this is Vienna calling. Welcome to Eurovision."

For the last few years the results have been read by Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, who will also present BBC3's coverage of the Eurovision semi-finals on Thursday (May 21), alongside Sue Perkins.

This year's Eurovision Song Contest final takes place in Vienna on May 23. Representing the UK are duo Electro Velvet with Still In Love With You.

The pair recently announced that they will wear specially-designed LED costumes for their performance, commenting: “The whole Eurovision experience has been illuminating for us and we can’t wait to literally light up on stage in front of the entire world - it’s going to be electric!”

The 2015 Eurovision Grand Final will be broadcast in the UK on BBC One and BBC Radio 2 from 8pm.
