New Releases: Olivia Rodrigo, Fredo, Fred again.., Tove Lo
This week's biggest single, album and DVD releases - only on Official Charts.
Jumping straight into singles this week, the biggest new track we'll see impacting the Official Singles Chart this week will obviously be the new offering from Olivia Rodrigo. Called bad idea right? it will function as the second single from Olivia's sophomore record GUTS. Once again produced by Dan Nigro, you can expect a very different offering from the dark chamber-pop of launch single Vampire (which has so far spent all of its chart life within the Top 5). In fact, Vogue (who listened to a snippet of the song before its official release) have likened the sonics of the track to bent-pop auteurs Le Tigre and Charli XCX. Let's go girls!
Also this week, we see the return of Sigrid with the first track from her forthcoming third album. The Norwegian pop idol reached her highest-ever position on the Official Albums Chart with How To Let Go, but admittedly some of her best tracks from that era (Burning Bridges and Griff collab Head On Fire, especially) didn't resonate in the same way as her previous Top 10, Strangers. But could that all be about to change? Brand new single The Hype sounds like the Sigrid of old, with a super-charged chorus to match all those lofty expectations.
Also releasing this week, British pop star in the making Talia Mar unleashes a funky, sassy new single in the shape of Forget About Your Ex, US alt-pop connoisseur METTE releases her best statement yet with the twisted Van Gough and Tove Lo links up with Joel Little (Lorde, Taylor Swift) for the next single from her recent extraordinary project Dirt Femme (Elevator Eyes).
As for albums, Kilburn MC Fredo returns with his first studio album in two years with Unfinished Business, which comes hot on the heels of his feature on Stormzy's track Toxic Trait, which peaked at Number 11 and became his 19th entry in the UK Top 40.
Karol G, one of the biggest stars in Latin America who recently experienced a massive breakthrough in the US, has also dropped a brand new project, although Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season), is actually her second LP released this year and contains collaborations with Kali Uchis and Tiesto.

Sigrid's new song is perfect. This one better not flop. The UK did her dirty with the How To Let Go tracks. This one is a great new single.
