New Releases: Justin Timberlake, Megan Thee Stallion, Tom Odell, NewDad and more!
Welcome to your weekly round-up of this week's big new song, album and home entertainment releases, all in one place, only on Official Charts.
Big news from a returning pop icon today as Justin Timberlake starts a large-scale comeback. We've not heard much from JT since his 2018 album Man Of The Woods underperformed critically and commercially, and he's perhaps come around to realise that no-one is crying out for a Timberlake country jam.
So, out are acoustic guitars and wooly jumpers, in are timely synth-y slow jams! Brand new single Selfish is the launch track for JT's forthcoming Everything I Thought I Was, due for release March 15. A return to the of-the-moment pop sound, it comes courtesy of hitmakers The Monterz and the Strangerz, who've worked with the likes of Dua Lipa and Zara Larsson.
Megan Thee Stallion continues her serpent-themed rollout for her as-yet-untitled third album, arriving tomorrow with the scintillating Hiss. The next record will be Megan's first since leaving her long-time recording contract, instead hitting out with her own independent label, with releases distributed by Warner.
We also have brand new single releases this week from Australian pop prince The Kid LAROI (Heaven), singer-songwriter Cate (Rocket Science) and a duo of new bops from rising queer artists; US artist Fletcher launches her second album with a veritable glow-up sonically (Lead Me On) and British singer Dan Aura, who blooms on his most confident single yet (Rewritten).
Albums-wise this week, Tom Odell got a big career re-boost this past year when 2012 single Another Love returned to the Official Chart thanks to TikTok, and he's not resting on his laurels. New album Black Friday arrived on, well, Friday, and it's already been teased with its title track already becoming a Top 40 hit. Could it challenge for Number 1?
Other LPs this week come from the buzzy NewDad (Madra) and James Arthur (Bitter Sweet Love).
