New Music Friday - this week's biggest new song, album and DVD releases, all in one place.
NEW MUSIC FRIDAY OCTOBER 4

Welcome to New Music Friday, your one place to discover the biggest new song, album and DVD releases.

First, let's head over to albums.

One of the most successful British bands of their generation, Coldplay release their tenth (!) studio album, Moon Music, today. Another pop-focused effort, Moon Music once again sees Chris Martin and co. bring in Swedish pop wizard Max Martin and his WolfCousins team as production architects for their latest project, enthusing each song with warm, vibrating synths and melodies. Two songs from Moon Music, feellikeimfallinginlove (16) and the collaboration stacked WE PRAY (26) have already charted inside the Top 40 of the Official Singles Chart.

Elsewhere, Billie Eilish's older brother, FINNEAS, continues his own solo artist project with the release of his second record, For Cryin' Out Loud!, the self-produced and written foilow-up to his first album, Optimist.

Elsewhere this week, we have brand new LPs from Grammy winner Victoria Monet (Jaguar II), Fizz member Orla Gartland (Everybody Needs A Hero) and Leon Bridges (Leon).

Meanwhile over on singles this week, PERRIE (the artist formerly known as, uh, Perrie Edwards) is chugging along with her own solo project. Third release You Go Your Way is her most upbeat yet, with Ar Pez finally letting loose some of those fierce pop vocals we came to know and love from her as a member of Little Mix. With co-production from acclaimed duo Joy (Anonymous), we think Perrie has found the key to solo success here; a danceable beat with a huge chorus and the space to let that gorgeous, gigantic voice of hers fly.

After recently celebrating 10 years since her career-defining debut single Ghost (and, truly, what a song that is) Ella Henderson is looking to the future with a happy heart with Filthy Rich, her first solo single since 2021. Of the song, Ella says writing Filthy Rich returned her to her roots, and "a constant reminder of the fact that yes, I do what I love, but without the people I love unconditionally surrounding me, it would all be for nothing." Keep going to that river to pray, queen!

Other brand new tracks coming your way this New Music Friday also include drops from Calum Scott (My World), Confidence Man (Control) and JoJo (Porcelain).
