New Releases: Central Cee, FKA twigs, Tate McRae, Teddy Swims and more!

New Music Friday - this week's biggest new song, album and DVD releases, all in one place

NEW MUSIC FRIDAY JANUARY 23

Welcome to New Music Friday, your one place to discover the biggest new song, album and DVD releases.

Let's start with albums this week.

Central Cee's debut album has been years in the making, but as the chart-topping superstar himself says...you CAN'T RUSH GREATNESS. Cench's first full studio album is filled with the confidence you can only gain when you've topped the Official Singles Chart for 10 straight weeks.

Having already gained one UK Number 1 album in the form of 2022's mixtape 23 - we're sure this album will have been more than worth the wait.

Are we feeling...Eusexua? FKA twigs has been one of British pop's leading auteurs for more than 10 years, but has yet to crack the Top 10 of the Official Albums Chart. This could all change with the release of her thrid full-length LP, Eusexua, a lush exploration into New Age dance and techno backed by her boldest move into commercial pop yet.

Following on from his breakout hit single Kehlani last year, Irish singer and rapper Jordan Adetunji debuts his first EP A Jaguar's Dream, while Teddy Swims' completes the second half of his debut album, I've Tried Everything But Therapy.

Plus, US star JoJo, of Leave (Get Out) fame, debuts a brand new EP, NGL.

Meanwhile, over on singles...

Tate McRae revs up her sports car as she unleashes the third single from her upcoming third album, So Close To What. Co-written by Julia Michaels and produced by Ryan Tedder, sports car is another stuttering, hip-hop influenced pop tune with breathy melodies and an addictive spoken-word chorus. Basically, if Britney was recording In The Zone in 2025, she'd be releasing sports car too.

Sam Fender also debuts the latest track People Watching today, Arm's Length follows last year's title track, which immediately debuted at Number 4 on the Official Singles Chart. Could we be looking at another hit on the horizon?

Mabel continues her journey to take her music back-to-basics with a stripped-back focus to the low-slung, gorgeous R&B soundscape where she first made her name before pop stardom came calling. With a third album on the horizon for this coming year, Mabel has teamed up with Ghanian singer-songwriter King Promise for the lovelorn All Over You.

Quickly becoming one of the brightest rising stars in British pop. Chloe Qisha released her first EP last year, full of whipsmart lyricism and jubliant production. She takes a step further towards a breakout moment with latest single 21st Century Cool Girl, backed by some tongue-twisting one-liners ('You walked straight ot the set of Dawson's Creek') and a chamber-pop production straight out of 2005. Count us in!

Other new singles launching this Friday include drops from Shura (Recognise), Teddy Swims (Guilty), DJO (Basic Being Basic), Joel Corry (Tears On My Piano) and BANKS (Love Is Unkind).
