New Releases: JADE, Benson Boone, Childish Gambino, Madison Beer and more

Welcome to New Music Friday, your one place to discover the biggest new song, album and DVD releases.

Let’s get straight into this week’s singles with one of year's most anticipated debuts. 

JADE (the artist formerly known as Jade Thirlwall aka the thinking man's favourite member of Little Mix) finally arrives as a fully-formed solo artist on Angel Of My Dreams, her surprising and complex first single that samples Sandie Shaw's Puppet On A String.

As the last member of Little Mix to debut as a solo artist, JADE has certainly saved the most interesting and left-of-field music until last. Read more about Angel Of My Dreams in our First Listen here.

Benson Boone is having one hell of a run this year - releasing his debut album, Fireworks & Rollerblades, and securing his first UK Number 1 single with the grandiose rock ballad Beautiful Things. Benson will be looking to keep this good thing going with the release of his latest single, Death Wish Love, the official lead single to the soundtrack of Twisters, the big budget sequel to 90s blockbuster Twister, starring Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone But You's Glen Powell and Normal People's Daisy Edgar-Jones.

Madison Beer continues her hot-streak of releasing more electronic-influenced pop music. Following the success of Make You Mine, her next single 15 Minutes arrives with a tonne of viral hype, while Mabel's R&B-influenced third album continues to take shape with Female Intuition, which contains a sample of the late, great Aaliyah's posthumous UK Number 1 single, More Than A Woman (banger). 

This week, we also have new tracks from a newly solo (again) Joe Jonas (Work It Out), Khalid (Ground), Rex Orange County (Alexander and Guitar Song) and Sports Team (I'm In Love (Subaru)) who have just announced their third studio album, set to drop February 2025 (!). 

Now we look over to albums, where 5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin releases his second solo record, Blood On The Drums, an atmospheric and emotional slice of synth-pop.

K-pop sensations Stray Kids prepare to headline BST Hyde Park with lots of new material for fans to sing along to on their new LP ATE, while Adam Lambers issues a brand new EP, Afters.

JT, formerly of the City Girls, is making moves as a solo act now, debuting her new mixtape, City Cinderella, which has been boosted thanks to her eye-catching verse in Doechii's summer jam, Alter Ego. City Cinderella contains collaborations with the likes of DJ Khaled. 

And finally, Childish Gambino's fifth studio album, Bando Stone & The New World, may well be Donald Glover's last under his musical moniker, having spoken of his intentions to retire his musical alter-ego. It also functions as the soundtrack to the upcoming film of the same name.
