New Music Friday Releases: Oasis, Normani, Sea Girls and more
Welcome to New Music Friday, your one place to discover the biggest new song, album and DVD releases.
Let's kick off with some brand-new albums.
Fans once feared the day would never come, but former Fifth Harmony star Normani finally delivers her debut solo record DOPAMINE this week. Normani's first full-length project since 5H's disbandment in 2018, DOPAMINE includes the singles Wild Side ft. Cardi B, 1:59 ft. Gunna and focus track All Yours.
London rock outfit Sea Girls will be hoping to secure a third Top 5 LP with their latest release Midnight Butterflies. The band, comprising Henry Camamile, Rory Young, Andrew Dawson and Oli Khan, previously enjoyed success with 2020 debut Open Up Your Head and 2022's Homesick; both peaking at Number 3 on the Official Albums Chart.
New York multi-hyphenate Moby returns with Always Centered At Night, his 22nd studio album. The record sees him collaborate with the likes of Serpentwithfeet (On Air), Lady Blackbird (Dark Days) and Akemi Fox (Fall Back). To date, Moby has earnt two Number 1 albums in the UK: 1999's Play and 2002 LP 18.
Elsewhere, London-based singer-songwriter LAUREL serves up her second album PALPITATIONS, Glaswegian glam-pop outfit Walt Disco unleash their second collection The Warping and Xenomania protégé Florrie releases her long-awaited debut The Lost Ones.
Now, let's talk singles.
As Liam Gallagher continues his celebratory tour of the record, Oasis release a previously-unheard track from the Definitely Maybe archives. Lifted from the album's upcoming 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, out August 30, Columbia (Sawmills Outtake) is now available for the first time ever; allowing fans into the original Definitely Maybe sessions at Cornwall's Sawmill Studios.
Following her debut sold-out headline show in London earlier this week, Little Mix star Leigh-Anne adds brand-new, summer-ready track Nature to her No Hard Feelings EP.
Elsewhere, hard life (FKA easy life) release tears; the first music under their new moniker following that legal battle with a certain budget airline.
Set to support the iconic Stevie Nicks at BST Hyde Park this summer, independent artist CATTY unleashes her brand-new single I Wish I Gave You Hell, while 5 Seconds of Summer's Ashton Irwin is back with the bouncy Breakup. It serves as the focus track of his BLOOD ON THE DRUMS (The Thorns) EP; the first taste of his second full-length solo project.
And finally, Girls Aloud continue their retrospective releases as the Something New EP becomes available on streaming for the first time. One of the group's best-loved tracks, Something New peaked at Number 2 in 2012; narrowly missing out on Number 1 to Olly Murs and Flo Rida's Troublemaker.
