New Music Friday Song Album DVD releases October 25th 2024

Welcome to New Music Friday, your one place to discover the biggest new song, album and DVD releases.

Let's get stuck straight into this week's new singles, shall we?

Having just released Bruno Mars collaboration Die With A Smile and Joker: Folie à Deux companion album Harlequin, Lady Gaga now delivers Disease; the first track from her upcoming seventh studio album.

Already riding high on the Official Singles Chart with her biggest hit to date, Diet Pepsi, Addison Rae returns with Aquamarine this week. Another slinky synth-pop tune created with ELVIRA and Luka Kosch, two members of Max Martin's WolfCousins cohort, it's a mature and sparkly tune that is, honestly, giving Rae Of Light.

Mimi Webb returns to the fray with her latest single One Eye Open, the latest taste from her forthcoming second studio album, following on from the left-field swerve of the Jungle, drum'n'bass influence of Mistakes.

Shygirl joins forces with Saweetie on the club cut Immaculate, the auteristic partier will be making her way around the UK next month as the support for Charli xcx's BRAT tour, and will definitely know how to get the party started.

K-pop group aespa Whiplash, their 5th mini album, the bombastic title track sounds like their biggest commercial hit in the making yet, with production coming from UK club powerhouse Shift K3y.

Now, let's turn our attention to albums.

Bastille are on the verge of releasing their fifth album "&" (Ampersand), which will be looking to secure Dan Smith and co. their fourth UK chart-topping LP, following Bad Blood (2013), Wild World (2016) and Give Me The Future (2022).

Halsey has always paid homage to her influences, but she goes one-step further on her eclectic fifth album The Great Impersonator; inspired by a period of ill-health and questions about her own mortality, Ashley Frangipane draws direct inspiration from the goth-rock of Evanesence (Lonely Is The Muse) and the mall-rock of the early 00s (Ego) to discover if, in an alternate universe, she could have still 'made it.' We think the answer to that is yes.

This week, you can also dig into new LPs from Pixies (The Night The Zombies Came), Megan Thee Stallion (Megan: Act II) and MUNA frontwoman Katie Gavin (What A Relief).
