Mumford & Sons set to continue reign atop Official Albums Chart

Plus new entries from Tove Lo, Roisin Murphy and Snoop Dogg.

Mumford & Sons’ Wilder Mind is heading for a second week at Number 1, currently outselling its nearest rival - Hozier’s self-titled debut (2) - by over 8,000 copies.

Wilder Mind marks the group’s second Official Albums Chart Number 1, following 2012’s Babel which has sold over one million copies in the UK to date.

Taylor Swift’s 1989 climbs five places midweek to Number 3, followed by Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour, down one place to 4.

Eric Clapton rounds out today’s Top 5 with new Best Of compilation Forever Man. The album is on track to become this week’s highest new entry.

New entries and high climbers

Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo is on course to enter the Top 10 this weekend with debut album Queen Of The Clouds (10), while Roisin Murphy is heading for a second Top 20 with Hairless Toys (14).

Leonard Cohen is set for a 14th Top 40 album with Can’t Forget – A Souvenir Of The Grand (15), as Thea Gilmore heads for a second with Ghosts & Graffiti (21).

Snoop Dogg’s latest offering - Bush - enters at 23 today, trailed by Madness’ Cathal Smyth’s A Comfortable Man, at 29.

The Fall’s Sub-Lingual Tablet (31), Nathan Carter’s Beautiful Life (32) and Magnum’s Escape From The Shadow Garden – Live 2014 (39) are also all set to enter the Top 40 on Sunday.

Gregory Porter’s Liquid Spirit is on track to become the week’s highest climber, up 29 places to 19 today, while Guns N’ Roses’ Greatest Hits climbs 25 places to 24.
