Mumford & Sons complete trio of UK Number 1 albums with RUSHMERE
"This has been driven by the fans!"

Mumford & Sons celebrate their third chart-topping album today, as fifth studio record RUSHMERE debuts at Number 1.
Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwane and Ben Lovett’s first studio release in seven years joins 2012’s Babel and 2015’s Wilder Mind to complete a trio of Number 1 LPs for the group. 2009’s Sigh No More and Delta both peaked at Number 2 in the UK.
Celebrating the news, Mumford & Sons' Ben tells Official Charts:
"What's so unique about this Number 1 album is it's really been driven by the fans.
"People have really turned up for us; we didn't even really appreciate how intense that connection with our fans is. We knew we felt it, but after seven years away we wondered whether or not it was still there.
"The support reminds me a what it was like at the very beginning; when we first started playing Little Lion Man.
"We're just three friends, in this together; instruments in hand, singing together. That's all it is!"
Chatting on BBC Radio 1's The Official Chart, Marcus comments: "It's been great connect with the fans again. We've got a lot to be grateful for!"
