Mick Flannery and Susan O'Neill have announced Trouble, the second single taken from their eagerly-anticipated duet album In The Game.

The pair's next single will be released on Friday August 6 and trails their first full-length collaborative project which comes out on September 9 and is available to pre-order on vinyl and CD. The album's lead single Chain Reaction was released in June.

Trouble was one of the first songs the pair recorded for the collection, coming to be on their first day of studio sessions. Trouble deals "with some shared global themes of trouble", O'Neill stated on social media.

In The Game will see Flannery and O'Neill play the roles of a couple who are navigating life while things aren't always going their way. Some songs for the project were written together, with others penned individually, an approach that promises to build a strong narrative and sense of perspectives for the LP's concept.

Renowned Cork singer Flannery and Clare multi-instrumentalist O'Neill have struck up a fruitful musical relationship over the past few years, releasing the standalone single Baby Talk in early 2020 - which won ‘Best Original Song of The Year’ at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards - and releasing a live EP in April.

Mick Flannery claimed his third solo Number 1 album in July 2019 with his self-titled sixth record, while his live album Alive (Live from Cork Opera House 2019) went in at Number 3 on the Official Irish Albums Chart last July.
