Michael Buble announced as the host of The BRIT Awards 2017

The Canadian is only the third non-British presenter for the event.

Move over Ant and Dec - there's a new man for the job over at The BRIT Awards.

Canadian crooner Michael Buble will be only the third foreign host of the BRITs when he steps into some very big shoes on Wednesday 22 February.

"Even though I didn’t grow up as a Brit I’ve always been well aware of The BRIT Awards and their impact globally. I’m very much looking forward to February and celebrating the success stories of a great year in music."

Previous hosts not from the UK are RuPaul who presented alongside Sir Elton John in 1994 and Kylie who took to the stage with Matthew Horne and James Corden in 2009.

In addition to Michael's presenting duties, a special live nominations broadcast has also been announced, where viewers will find out the shortlist for the event's award categories and witness special performances from nominees. The BRIT Awards 2017 Nominations launch will be take place on Saturday 14 January.

The BRIT Awards 2017 will also see the most-awarded musician in BRITs history Robbie Williams pick up his 18th BRIT Award - the BRITs Icon Award

The BRITs are not Michael's only exciting project lined up. Michael Buble at the BBC will see Michael preview material from his new album Nobody but Me and perform classic hits later this year.
