Mercury Prize 2016: Clara Amfo, Jessie Ware, Annie Mac confirmed for judging panel
The full judging panel for this year's Hyundai Mercury Prize has been announced.
Names such as Naughty Boy, Jarvis Cocker, Ellie Roswell of Wolf Alice and Jamie Cullum had already been announced, but new panelists confirmed today (July 19) include BBC Radio 1 broadcaster and former Official Chart Show host Clara Amfo, Mercury Prize and BRIT Award nominated musician Jessie Ware and radio presenter and DJ Annie Mac.
Aside from radio talent and musicians, industry experts such as BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music's Head of Music Jeff Smith and Phil Alexander, Editor-in-Chief at Kerrang!, Mojo and Q.

The shortlist of 12 ‘Albums of the Year’ will be revealed on August 4th at a live launch, hosted by BBC 6 Music’s Shaun Keaveny. The full list of 12 nominees will also be revealed live on Lauren Laverne’s show on BBC Radio 6 Music at 11am the same day.

The general public will have some say for the first time too; following the longlist launch event, the UK and Ireland will be able to select one album to head straight into the pool of six finalists. The judges will then finalise the other five, before selecting the overall winner.
All six finalists and the overall winner will be announced during the 2016 Awards Show, which will take place on Thursday 15 September.
