Meghan Trainor: “I can’t wait for everyone to hear more songs”
The All About That Bass singer tells Official Charts she is “confident” about following the success of her debut single.
Meghan Trainor has opened up about the success of her debut single All About That Bass.
The singer explained that she is excited for the public to hear more songs from her and feels “confident” about following up the worldwide smash.
She told us: “As a songwriter I feel very confident I have more follow ups and I can't wait for everyone to hear more songs! You'll get that chance soon when my album is out in the UK.”
Discussing how much her life has changed since the song was released, she revealed: “Collaborating with John Legend was incredible. Meeting Jimmy Fallon and Ellen Degeneres was also amazing - I'm a huge fan of them both.
“It feels like every week there's a new surprise. My mum says she can't keep up with the number of celebrities tweeting about my song!”
She added: “It was a dream of mine to have Michael Buble know I exist so the fact that he sang my song was unreal.”
All About That Bass sold over 143,000 copies to take the top spot in the UK on Sunday. In the previous week, it became the first song to enter UK Top 40 based purely on streams.
The track has also hit Number 1 in a further ten countries, including America, Australia and Germany.
