McFly's Danny Jones is launching a solo career.
The Voice Kids UK coach is the first member of McFly to pursue a solo music career, with his new single arriving next month.
"So excited to share new music with you, it’s been a long time in the making", Danny explained on Twitter, before announcing that he will play his new album live at a one-off gig later this month. Danny will play London's Islington Academy on June 25, with tickets going on general sale this Friday (June 15).
The Sun reports that Danny's first single will be released next month.
“I’ve been working on new songs for quite some time now and I can’t wait for everyone to hear them," said Danny in a statement. "The fans have been so supportive across the world and I’m excited for them all to join me on the next part of my journey."
Danny's solo album will arrive eight years since McFly's last studio album, 2010's Above The Noise. Since their hiatus was confirmed, fellow vocalist Tom Fletcher has written a series of plays and children's books, Harry Judd has won Strictly Come Dancing, and Dougie Poynter has launched the rock group INK..
