If you spend a day glued to the radio, there is a very big chance you will hear, at the very least, one song that Max Martin has been involved with.

The Swedish writer and producer – real name Martin Sandberg – is behind some of the biggest hits the pop universe has ever seen.

And now Max's magic is set to take over London's West End, as a new musical opens in November. & Juliet retells one of the most famous love stories in the world (Romeo & Juliet in case you hadn't joined the dots yet), using his biggest hits from the likes of Britney Spears, Katy Perry and more.

As we await curtain-up, we delve deeper to give you a full Top 40 of the tunes he's written or produced.

Before we reveal the big ones, here are a few highlights:

Britney Spears – …Baby One More Time

You can't talk Max Martin and not bring Britney into the equation. He's worked with Britney a lot over the course of her career, on huge songs like Oops…! I Did It Again, Overprotected, Stronger and 2011's Hold It Against me, but it all started here. …Baby One More Time was an instant classic, debuting at Number 1 and selling 463,700 copies in its first week. It passed a million sales after just five weeks, giving Max his first seat in the seven-figures sales' club. See where all of Britney's songs and albums have charted in the UK.

Taylor Swift – Shake it Off

When Taylor Swift wanted to let the world know she was going all-out pop on her 2014 album 1989, who else would she turn to but Uncle Max? They'd already struck gold on previous singles We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble, but Shake it Off took things stratospheric. Shout out to the icy gem Blank Space too.

Pink – So What

Max has done some of his most stellar work with one Alecia Moore – Pink to you and me. Their first smash collabo was Who Knew, but it was So What that finally gave Pink her first solo Number 1 on both sides of the Atlantic, eight years after her first hit. It's also their most successful team-up on the coutndown. Pink's Official Chart archive

Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj – Bang Bang

Never knowingly undersung, Bang Bang was a second Number 1 for Jessie and Max after 2011's Domino, and it was also his second with Ariana – Problem was a Max special too! It was his very first UK Number 1 with the lovely Nicki.

Ellie Goulding – Love Me Like You Do

Max teamed up with Tove Lo for this dreamy '80s style ballad taken from saucy movie Fifty Shades of Grey. It was a huge hit for Ellie, giving her a second Number 1 and notching up over 170,000 chart sales in its first week!

The Weeknd – Can't Feel My Face

One of the coolest guys in R&B, The Weeknd also has a big appreciation for Max's pop sensibilities. Can't Feel My Face was the first time they'd worked together, spending nine weeks in the Top 10, peaking at 3. See The Weeknd's Official Chart archive

Ariana Grande – Into You

They have had bigger hits together– Ari makes three appearances in the Top 10, more than any other artist – but have any of them banged as hard as Into You? Guaranteed to make even your most staid aunts and uncles embarrass themselves on the dancefloor with their sexy moves, Into You shockingly missed the Top 10 on release in 2016, peaking at 14. Incredible.

Katy Perry – Roar

Katy has Max to thank for loads of her hits, including debut Number 1 I Kissed A Girl and the weird and wonderful E.T. featuring the iconic "alien sex" cameo verse from Kanye. The million-selling Roar is Katy and Max's biggest collaboration together, though, spending two weeks at Number 1 in 2013.See Katy Perry's Official Chart archive

Justin Timberlake – Can't Stop the Feeling

Perhaps surprisingly, Max's most successful song in the UK never actually got to Number 1! Instead, this Justin track, taken from the Trolls movie, had to settle for second place for four weeks, behind Drake's chart-hogging juggernaut One Dance in summer 2016. Still, it's shifted over two million combined sales across physical and digital sales and streaming, including 136 million plays.
