Mariah Carey, Wham! and Ed Sheeran & Elton John enter three-way race for Number 1

It's a very festive three-horse race to the top of the Official Singles Chart...

It’s a three-horse, festive race for the UK’s Number 1 single this week as Mariah Carey, Wham! and Ed Sheeran & Elton John surge ahead towards the top of the Official Singles Chart.

There’s little more than 1,000  chart sales separating the three competitors (all former UK Number 1 singles), with Mariah taking the lead as All I Want For Christmas Is You (1) seeks to extend its return at the peak of the chart, while Wham! follow with Last Christmas (2) and Ed & Elton’s Merry Christmas (3) bring up the rear.

Stormzy is preparing to vault to a new personal best with his new single Firebabe about to climb four to Number 5.

Lizzo could secure third UK Top 10 single. Her take on Stevie Wonder’s Someday At Christmas, an Amazon Music Original this festive season, might be this week’s big gainer; currently up twenty-two (9).

Kelly Clarkson’s glamorous original Christmas song Underneath The Tree has taken its time to warm up to becoming a festive staple, but the 2013 track looks set to earn its highest-ever peak in the UK this week (14).

Following the release of her long-awaited sophomore album SOS, two tracks from SZA could enter the Top 40; Kill Bill (24) and Nobody Gets Me (25).

Lizzo can't sing! Just putting it out there. Stevie Wonder would be turning in his grave, if he was dead. 😜

, i usually forget just how tiring these takeovers are. as much as i love a lot of christmas music, it’s crazy to see so many songs take over the chart. had acr not been a thing, we’d potentially be seeing the entire top 40 coated in holiday songs on the nye chart…

anyways, i really love to see sza on course for a few top 40 debuts among the avalanche. her new album was so good and definitely worth the 5 year wait. :)

Hope 'Escapism' rebounds in the final chart like it did from last week's First Look. :)

Surprised there are no SZA songs here, but hopefully she'll remain in the Top 40 with a couple tracks from her new album! 🤞

I make it 6 (4, 5, 7, 10, 12 & 18), unless Firebabe is Christmas song i don't know about?

I wondered this the other day, but a couple people here considered ‘Firebabe’ to apparently be a Christmas-themed song! 🤷
