Harry Styles, Nicki Minaj, Liam Gallagher, Kylie Minogue and more have spoken out in tribute after 22 people were killed in a suspected terror attack after an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena last night (May 22).

The explosion took place in the foyer of the arena while fans, many of whom were teenagers and young children, were leaving the show. Prime Minister Theresa May has since confirmed that this is being treated as a terrorist attack.

Police have set up an emergency telephone number in response to the attack. Please call: 0161 856 9400.

Ariana herself has spoken out since the event, posting on Twitter that she is "Broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don't have words."

Among those from the music world include Manchester natives Liam Gallagher and Gary Barlow. The Take That singer said he was "Praying for all the victims and families involved", while Liam said he is "in total shock and absolutely devastated about what's gone down in Manchester".

The Queen said of a nation "shocked" by the tragedy in a statement:

"The whole nation has been shocked by the death and injury in Manchester last night of so many people, adults and children, who had just been enjoying a concert. I know I speak for everyone in expressing my deepest sympathy to all who have been affected by this dreadful event and especially to the families and friends of those who have died or were injured. I want to thank all the members of the emergency services, who have responded with such professionalism and care. And I would like to express my admiration for the way the people of Manchester have responded, with humanity and compassion, to this act of barbarity."

My first thoughts were that everyone (literally people who aren't into pop music or music at all) will now know who Ariana is, which will result in her fame-boost. Then again, her tours could suffer really bad. Like, really, really bad. Time will show.

Anyways, RIP to all the victims. Horrible day for the music world.

can any brits explain something to me: when you go to an arena in the uk, do you have to go thru a screening device like you would @ an airport before entering the venue?

I hope this doesn't mean a bunch of Ariana Grande songs will get in the charts, especially considering I don't see any Soundgarden or Audioslave in the chart update.

well, nobody's discounting chris cornell's death, but this was a terrorist attack on a group of helpless victims. nobody in that situation would've guessed a bomber was also in the audience. and because ariana is a current pop artist, i wouldn't be surprised more attn. will be brought to her music. with soundgarden and audioslave it might be good to check out the billboard rock charts and if the official charts have a rock section.

The UK charts do have a rock chart, but it's about as static as the K2, so it's not very good

Yeah, it's been like this for weeks now. When it started ALL the recent articles' comments were combined. Now it's not so bad as it's only the actual chart ones but still annoying
