Mamma Mia! album denies Travis Scott his first Irish Number 1
The show goes on for Mamma Mia! this week, as the soundtrack to the sequel, Here We Go Again, claims a third week at Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart.
The collection of songs from the film performed by the cast, including Cher’s rendition of Fernando, fends off strong competition from US rapper Travis Scott, who debuts at 2 with his third record Astroworld. The album – his first to chart in Ireland - has made a big impact this week, with three of its tracks entering the singles chart.
It’s still very much an ABBA affair in the Top 10; the first Mamma Mia! soundtrack is at Number 6, while ABBA’s Gold – Greatest Hits is at 8.
New entries and high climbers
Outside of the Top 10, up and coming US rapper Juce Wrld leaps 14 places to Number 16 with his debut set Goodbye And Good Riddance, rising star Billie Eilish lifts eight spots to a new peak at 34 with her debut album Don’t Smile at Me, and rapper Mac Miller enters at Number 39 with his new collection Swimming.
