Madonna teases Confessions on a Dance Floor sequel album

Forget your problems, administration, bills and loans because Madonna has teased a sequel to her seminal 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor.

The Queen of Pop posted a photo on X – a platform she rarely uses, so she must mean business – showing her with producer Stuart Price, her main collaborator on the chart-topping 2005 album. She captioned it, oh so teasingly: "Confessions on a Dancefloor part 2".

Meanwhile, over on Instagram, she shared a video from the recording studio with the caption: "Working on new music with Stuart Price. these past few months has been medicine for my SOUL. Songwriting and making music is the one area where I don’t need to ask anyone for their permission.. I’m so excited to share it with you. Who wants to hear new music in 2025!"

Madonna and Stuart Price recently re-teamed on last year's The Celebration Tour, for which he served as musical director and, at certain dates, her opening act.

However, they haven't worked on new music together since the Confessions era, which yielded the UK Number 1 hits Hung Up and Sorry, plus the Top 10 follow-up hits Get Together (Number 7) and Jump (Number 9).

Madonna's last studio album, Madame X, came out in 2019 but last year she scored her first Top 10 single in 15 years with Popular, a collaboration with The Weeknd and Playboi Carti. In the process, she extended her record as the female artist with the most UK Top 10s in Official Singles Chart history to an incredible 64.

She revealed in March 2023 that she was working on new music with pop super-producer Max Martin, who has worked with everyone from Britney Spears to Ariana Grande.

Does this mean we could be getting a Madge dance-pop album featuring collaborations with Stuart Price and Max Martin? That's definitely a prospect we'd Jump at...
