Madonna is recording new music with Mirwais, who produced her American Life and Music albums

Madonna is seemingly back in the recording studio and reunited with longtime collaborator Mirwais.

The superstar has been working on her 14th studio album since the start of 2018, posting regular (but still cryptic) updates from the studio.

French record producer and songwriter Mirwais worked on several tracks for Madonna's 2000 album Music, including hit single Don't Tell Me, co-produced her entire American Life album in 2003 and co-wrote Future Lovers on her 2005 record Confessions On A Dance Floor. See where all of Madonna's singles and albums have charted here.

Madonna posted a clip of herself singing to an unknown song online, clarifying it wasn't a new track of hers but that she was "having fun in the studio between takes", tagging Mirwais.

Mirwais released three albums between 1981 and 2000 and has remixed songs for Mika, Uffie and Franz Ferdinand but hasn't worked with an artist on an album project since Madonna's Confessions record.

Madonna's last album, Rebel Heart, saw her assemble an array of hit producers, including Diplo, Ariel Rechtshaid and Avicii. The collection peaked at Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart, pipped to the post by Sam Smith's debut In The Lonely Hour.

Madonna has scored a seriously impressive 13 Number 1 singles and 12 Number 1 albums in the UK - look back at her complete chart history here.

Last year, OfficialCharts.com revealed her Official Top 40 biggest selling singles in celebration of 34 years since her debut single Holiday. Check out the full list here.

Oh please. Madonna's albums usually always go to the top of the charts. It's only the naysayers like you who want her to go away because she puts your fav's in the shade. Whether you like it or not, Madonna is coming back. Get ready to have your wig snatched.

Wait, what? Many will buy it, and hopefully there won't be the major leaks that plagued it's predecessor. Even still, the Rebel Heart tour alone grossed $169 million, the video for "B*tch, I'm Madonna" was streamed over 267 million times, and the album reached #2 on the charts. That's not exactly "no one gonna" territory.

I think it's a good thing that she's working again with Mirways. It's a very wise move from her. "American Life" was a great and very underrated album. Much better than "Music" or "MDNA".
