Little Mix's Official Top 40 biggest songs in the UK
Little Mix were the biggest UK girlgroup of their generation - here are their biggest songs ever in the UK.
Little Mix were the biggest UK girlgroup of their generation.
Learning from the hyper-commerciality of the Spice Girls, the genre-bending experimentation of Girls Aloud and the rugged stylishness of Sugababes and All Saints, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock (original member Jesy Nelson left the group in 2020) were a chart force to be reckoned with for an incredibly long time (12 years, from 2011 until their hiatus in 2022) and in that time, made some incredible pop music.
From their debut single Cannonball to wrapping up their pop tenure with the emotional Between Us era, Little Mix defied expectations and industry pressures and managed to win over the British public.
Now, revealed for the first time ever, are the group's Official Top 40 biggest-ever songs in the UK. But before we get to that, here's a closer look at the Top 10.
10. Sweet Melody
Released: 2020
Official Singles Chart peak: Number 1
Total UK chart units: 1.1 million
A sinister, shape-shifting tune, Sweet Melody showed Little Mix at arguably the height of their powers, able to meld a more experimental sound...but still take it all the way to Number 1. Their last chart-topper, Sweet Melody is proof that your last hit may well be your greatest.
9. Wings
Released: 2012
Official Singles Chart peak: Number 1
Total UK chart units: 1.1 million
How do you kick off a career after winning the biggest TV show in the country? This will do! There's something of a lingering Christina Aguilera on the sassy and saxxy Wings, which ranks as the group's most-downloaded song ever (549,000 downloads).
A very 2012 message about never letting the haters get you down, Wings was bestowed possibly the ultimate accolade of success at the time; its very own Glee cover.
8. Heartbreak Anthem (with Galantis & David Guetta)
Released: 2021
Official Singles Chart peak: Number 3
Total UK chart units: 1.2 million
A rare feature from the girls, Heartbreak Anthem showed the world that, despite now being a member down, Little Mix had lost none of their flare...or their hitmaking capabilities.
7. Woman Like Me (ft. Nicki Minaj)
Released: 2018
Official Singles Chart peak: Number 2
Total UK chart units: 1.2 million
LM5 is an album that runs in a slightly different direction to cookie-cutter pop, so it was surprising when such an abrasive LP was teased with this Nicki Minaj-featuring, Jess Glynne co-write. A Number 2 hit for the girls, Woman Like Me's blockbuster live performance at the 2019 BRITs showed that the girls were performers at the top of their game. It's also their official most-streamed video ever (41 million streams).
6. Reggaeton Lento (Remix) (with CNCO)
Released: 2016
Official Singles Chart peak: Number 5
Total UK chart units: 1.4 million
Ignore the slightly dodgy Spanish accents from the girls and the video that looked like it was shot inside the bar of a university student union, Reggaeton Lento is a massive banger that sounds and feels like summer. Still signed to Syco at the time, Reggaeton Lento was a handy link-up with Latin boyband CNCO, handily another act on the Syco roster.
5. Secret Love Song (ft. Jason Derulo)
Released: 2015
Official Singles Chart peak: Number 6
Total UK chart units: 1.7 million
The 'second' part of Secret Love Song is one of Little Mix's most emotionally affecting songs, and a clear tribute to the LGBT community and the silent heartbreak of forbidden love. For the single version, Jason Derulo was added into the mix, which sent it into the Top 10.
4. Power
Released: 2016
Official Singles Chart peak: Number 6
Total UK chart units: 1.8 million
Ladies, start your engines! Glory Days was Little Mix's coming out party as the biggest and best girl group in the world and Power becoming the third Top 10 single from the LP proves that. Helped massively, of course, by its eye-catching big-budget video and Stormzy gifting a verse on the remix.
3. Touch
Released: 2016
Official Singles Chart peak: Number 4
Total UK chart units: 1.8 million
The thinking man's favourite Little Mix song. Touch floats on a feather-light, R&B-light beat and allows each member the opportunity to shine, although it would be a braver man than us to argue Jade doesn't steal the show on her star-making verse.
2. Black Magic
Released: 2015
Official Singles Chart peak: Number 1
Total UK chart units: 2.3 million
One of pop music's great sonic U-turns, Black Magic re-invigorated Little Mix's career with a hard-to-resist bubblegum-pop aesthetic. Returning them to the top of the Official Singles Chart as their third Number 1 single, Black Magic's spell still well and truly lingers.
1. Shout out to My Ex
Released: 2016
Official Singles Chart peak: Number 1
Total UK chart units: 2.4 million
A most audacious start to Little Mix's imperial phase, the headline-grabbing Shout out to My Ex flirted with addressing very real rumours over Perrie's personal life, but also works as a totally-universal reminder to never let the bad break-ups define you.
Trailed with an explosive live performance on that year's X Factor, Shout out to My Ex shot straight to Number 1 on its release, and stayed there for three whole weeks. It remains both Little Mix's biggest song overall in the UK (2.4 million chart units) and their most-streamed (230 million streams) too.
