Little Mix set to claim second week at Number 1 with Sweet Melody

Plus Bugzy Malone & Chip could earn the highest new entry with Notorious.

Little Mix are on course for a second week at Number 1 with Sweet Melody.

The song holds on to its Number 1 spot on today's Official Chart: First Look, though with just 250 chart sales between the song and Ed Sheeran’s Afterglow (2) there's plenty of space for Afterglow to catch up to the reigning Number 1.

Irish producer Shane Codd is up two rungs on the First Look with Get Out My Head (4), which will be his first Top 5 single if it stays on track. Potentially joining Shane is Meduza's Paradise ft. Dermot Kennedy, which has jumped five places to Number 5 - set to be Meduza's second Top 5 song and Dermot's first.

No Time For Tears by Nathan Dawe ft. Little Mix rises seven to Number 17, which will be Nathan Dawe’s third Top 20 if it holds its place until Friday’s chart.

Finally, Manchester rapper Bugzy Malone could earn the highest new entry of the week with Notorious ft. Chip, placing at Number 20 after 48 hours.

The final Official Chart Top 40 will be unveiled exclusively on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart with Scott Mills this Friday from 4pm, with the full Official Singles Chart Top 100 published on OfficialCharts.com from 5.45pm.

I see comments about Drivers Licence... I've never even heard of it. Is it a new tiktok song or something?

Great to see Solah at #4 with Get Out My Head, Driver's Licence' from Olivia Rodrigo will go up as it has been streamed quite a bit already in fact #1 on spotify on Saturday (as the stream flash for first look was just Friday's)

No ones mentioning it here but don’t rule out whoopty! This is gonna be a week of switch ups I think!

Love charts like this when you just can’t call it for number 1!

I do quite like Drivers Licence, but want it to be Little Mix again to stop the powers that be (aka streaming). Really nice to se Paradise at number 5 as well, hope that it sticks there. Two Little Mix songs in the top 20 is nice for them as well.

Good to see sweet melody at #1 for now, although drivers licence will most likely take the top stop on friday

Not like Ed Sheeran to be stuck at #2 lol

Hopefully :)

Unless he's stopping himself, of course (Castle On The Hill and Galway Girl...)

He was kept off the #1 (at #2) for about 20 weeks in 2017:
Paeon
Castle On The Hill
Galway Girl

Admittedly most of those weeks he was keeping himself off the top ;-)

That's pretty much my point :)
He also spent quite a few weeks at number 2 with Beautiful People behind Senorita (admittedly it did get to number 1 but still)

Highly doubt people are tired of him when he’s at no.2 lol

Sure but not when weekly sales units are so low (lowest sales weeks of the year - and some of the lowest ever) and behind an old Little Mix song that is on the charts for 12 weeks already.

Also interesting to see Dermot Kennedy on track for a new personal best & his first Top 5 single! :D

I do think 'Outnumbered' deserved to stay as his biggest hit in the UK, but hey, I'm not exactly complaining about 'Paradise' continuing to do well here.

Nice to see 'Sweet Melody' still at #1, although I think 'Driver's Licence' will be a serious contender on Friday, given how massive it was on streaming over the weekend! :O
