The first set of acts who will perform at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend 2017 have been announced.
Taking place in Hull this year, Big Weekend will welcome Stormzy, Little Mix and Kings of Leon to the festival on May 27 and 28, 2017.
The news comes after huge campaigns of success for all three acts, Stormzy's resulting in a Top 10 single, a BRIT Award nomination and regular A-list airplay on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra. Kings of Leon recently celebrated their fifth Number 1 album in the UK, while Little Mix secured their first back in November 2016, with Glory Days since having gone on to be the most successful girl band album this millennium.
Little Mix shared their excitement at headlining the event on Twitter:

BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw commented: "I'm super excited for Big Weekend as it kicks off festival season and always has a mega line-up of the best live music. Roll on May - I can't wait to party in Hull alongside Kings of Leon, Little Mix, Stormzy and loads more!"
Acts who have played the festival - which is Europe's largest free-ticketed festival - in the past include Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Rihanna. 2017's weekend marks the 16th festival in the series which has ran annually since 2003.
The decision for Radio 1's Big Weekend to visit Hull for the first time coincides with Hull's status at City of Culture 2017. Martin Green, Director of Hull UK City of Culture 2017 said: "Bringing this major national event with some of the biggest names in the music industry is a massive coup for the city and confirms its growing international profile as THE place to be."
