Lil Nas X says debut album Montero will be released before the end of the summer
The rapper and singer says the record will be "much more cohesive" that his 2019 debut EP 7.
Lil Nas X has shared details about his upcoming album Montero - his first full-length record.
In an interview with Variety, the rapper and singer said the record will be out before the end of the summer and it will be as musically diverse as his 2019 debut EP 7, but "much more personal" and cohesive.
"I’m always trying to give people a show, you know?” he said, “While also pointing out the flaws in society. I have a goal in my head for where I want to be, but my entire life and career has been just going in and winging it.
"Some things work really well and some don’t work at all, and a lot of them are very much last minute - like, I planned the BET kiss literally a day or two before it happened. I just use anything that comes at me to my advantage, even things that others may see as a disadvantage."

The 22-year-old said he spent much of the pandemic "making music and crying — no in-betweens,” and learning not to be a people pleaser. "Honestly, I believe the pandemic helped me get out of the idea of trying to please everybody, and the idea of ‘He’s a cool gay person; he’s an acceptable gay person.
"I used to see things like that as a compliment, but it’s not. It just means you’re a people pleaser, and they never become legends."
Lil Nas X has so far released four singles from Montero, including the chart-topping Montero (Call Me By Your Name), plus Holiday, Sun Goes Down and most recently Industry Baby. View Nas' UK chart history so far here.
