Lil Mosey's viral smash Blueberry Faygo climbs to Number 1 on the Official Trending Chart

Despite multiple leaks before its official release, the track has only gone from strength to strength.

Blueberry Faygo by Lil Mosey lands at the top of this week’s Official Trending Chart, the Top 20 songs trending in the UK this week.

Blueberry Faygo - which samples 1980 single My, My, My by American singer-songwriter Johnny Gill - is the latest single from 18-year-old Lil Mosey, real name Lathan Moses Echols. The song has steadily climbed its way up the Top 100 over the last nine weeks, currently standing strong at Number 11 on the mid-week sales flash.

Blueberry Faygo is quickly scaling charts across the globe despite his somewhat over-eager fans, who have a habit of leaking his tracks before they're officially released.

“Mosey has a really big leak community,” Lil Mosey’s manager Josh Marshall told Rolling Stone last year, “Kids pay like $200 a song for his music on the internet, and they trade his music like Pokémon cards. It’s a community — they all talk on Instagram, share Mosey leaks and Mosey photos.”

One such leak of Blueberry Faygo actually reached 21 million streams globally on Spotify before it was finally removed - then multiple further versions were also uploaded before the song’s official release on February 7. To date the official release has clocked up 20.5 million audio and video streams in the UK alone.

Lil Mosey’s last album, 2019’s Certified Hitmaker, reached Number 67 on the Official Albums Chart and featured acts including AJ Tracey, Gunna and Trippie Redd. See Lil Mosey's chart journey in the UK here.

Elsewhere on the latest Official Trending Chart, Nathan Dawe’s Flowers remix ft. JayKae continues to blossom as it sets its sights on a new chart peak this week, and Jax Jones, Raye and Martin Solveig are also making waves with Tequila as the summer months draw closer.

Rover by S1mba ft. DTG is seeing a huge uplift this week and could zoom into the Official Singles Chart Top 40 on Friday (April 17) following a push by the artists on TikTok and Triller for the #MulaChallenge, a dance routine set to the song.

Other big new entries on this week's Official Trending Chart come from Twenty One Pilots with their new quarantine-themed anthem Level of Concern, and Boyfriend by Selena Gomez - one of three new additions to a deluxe edition of her Rare album.
