Liam Gallagher beats Kodaline to Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart with MTV Unplugged
Plus David Gray's White Ladder returns to the Top 10 after an RTÉ documentary about the album.
Liam Gallagher has beaten Kodaline to Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart with live album MTV Unplugged.
The Oasis legend scores his second solo chart topper in the process, joining his solo debut As You Were from 2017. 2019’s Why Me? Why Not peaked at Number 2. MTV Unplugged was the best-selling album of the week on physical formats (CD and vinyl) and is the fastest-selling vinyl album of 2020 so far.
MTV Unplugged is the first Number 1 live album in just shy of three years since Christy Moore’s On The Road spent three non-consecutive weeks at the tail-end of 2017.

Meanwhile, Kodaline enter the charts at Number 2 with their fourth studio album One Day At A Time. While the Dublin group miss the top spot, they have claimed 2020’s strongest first week of downloads with the collection, which was only available digitally. One Day At A Time is Kodaline’s first album not to debut at Number 1.
Elsewhere, Ireland’s bestselling album of all time, White Ladder by David Gray, is back in the Top 10. Climbing from last week’s Number 30, the British singer’s breakthrough album is at Number 8 following the broadcast of documentary David Gray: Ireland’s Greatest Hit on RTÉ One.
Finally, Harry Styles’ self-titled debut album returns to the Top 50 at 50.
